中國文化大學今天舉行創校六十周年校慶大會，宣示今年在新屆董事會暨董事長陳泰然、代理校長王淑音等的帶領下，將以「永續創新、邁向頂尖」新面貌，迎向下一個甲子。
校慶大會在文大體育館柏英廳舉行。出席來賓包括教育部政務次長劉孟奇，海地、聖文森格瑞那丁等國大使，文大董事會陳泰然董事長以及彭誠浩、張海燕、周燦德董事，校友總會理事長趙國帥，本屆傑出校友當選人，各校友會代表，李天任、吳萬益、徐興慶前校長，以及教職員工生代表等四百餘人。
劉孟奇政次肯定文化大學張其昀創辦人以書生之力興學、創辦終身教育學習機構以利社會人士學習。六十年來，在張創辦人、張鏡湖故董事長，以及歷任校長的努力與帶領之下，卓然有成、成為國際知名的綜合性大學，連續八年獲教育部大學教學卓越計畫獎勵。
陳泰然董事長表示，曾任教育部長的張其昀教授，為培養優秀人才，毅然創建中國文化大學，接棒人張鏡湖董事長落實質樸堅毅的校訓，終將中國文化學院轉型成為多元系所、國內外著名的綜合型大學。陳泰然董事長說，本屆傑出校友都在各行各業裡有很精采的表現，單單在縣市首長上，在廿名傑出校友中就佔了三位，還有法律界、建築業及媒體影視菁英，這些都是文大努力辦學的成果。
王淑音代理校長說，對中國文化大學來說，六十周年校慶是個史詩般的日子。一甲子何其不易，緬懷先賢篳路藍縷創校建校歷程之餘，誠心謝謝全校教職員工生及各界人士這六十年來的一路襄助。
Under the leadership of the Acting President, Dr. Shu-yin Wang, and Chairperson T.-J. Chen, Chinese Culture University celebrated its 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Celebration Ceremony on March 1, announcing the school’s goal, “sustainable renovation, reaching the greater heights,” for the next 60 years.
The celebration ceremony was held in Bo-Ying Hall on the 8th floor of the Gymnasium. Guests invited included Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education, the ambassadors of Haiti and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, members of the Board of Directors, chairman of the alumni association, recipients of the Distinguished Alumni of the Year, and the former presidents. Faculty and staff of the school also attended the ceremony.
Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education, Mon-Chi Lio, in his speech praised CCU founder, Dr. Chang Chi-Yun for his great effort in establishing the university as a prestigious higher education institute. In the past sixty years, the founder and his successors have turned the school into a world-known comprehensive university, which has been awarded as the best university for eight consecutive years.
Chairperson Chen also express his admiration for the founder, who asserted his vision based on the guiding thoughts of Temperament, Simplicity, Strength, and Tenacity to provide a fertile ground where students can grow and strive to realize their future. The graduates of the school have great achievements in different walks of life. This year, three of the recipients of Distinguished Alumni of the Year are the current head of the city and county government in Taiwan. The others strive in different fields such as law, architecture, and the media.
In memory of the past sixty-year history of the school, Acting President Wang said that the school experienced an epic struggle in those years so that we can now enjoy the current success. She also expressed her gratitude to the faculty and staff for their continuous hard work and support to the school.
