Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese Culture University had to change events scheduled for Homecoming Day this year. Though the annual lunch banquet is canceled, the school still has planned a series of activities for the alumni to enjoy on that day. The school will broadcast a live music concert online to memorize our founder in the morning. All alumni are welcome to participate in the Homecoming Day with us.
For the past decades, the school has held a homecoming lunch banquet each year for our alumni. In 2020, the school received more than 840 alumni for the reunion. Taiwan has been able to contain the pandemic and minimize its impact; however, the first-dose COVID-19 vaccination rate in Taiwan is 57% of the population by October 14 and the second-dose rate is 19%. Therefore, for disease prevention, the school has to cancel the lunch banquet this year.
Nevertheless, the school is holding a memorial day concert at the College Auditorium of Da Xiao Building, which could accommodate 200 participants. The concert will be broadcast via the YouTube channel for viewers who can’t gather in the auditorium. Chinese Culture University has planned a series of events for Homecoming Day, including a memorial service for the School founder at Xiao Yuan Garden and Art exhibitions at Hwa Kang Museum, featuring Chinese and Japanese artists. Artworks of school alumni will be shown as well. In addition, 30 departments hold celebration activities to reunite teachers and alumni. Please come back to the school and enjoy the event with us on November 6.
In response to the pandemic, the school has been well prepared for the celebration and disease prevention. The school is looking forward to seeing our alumni on this special day.
